Testimonials

From Zoe’s Family:

We hired Gretchen initially as a short term plan, to help walk our lovely Bernese Mountain Dog Zoe as she recovered from TPLO surgery.  From the minute Gretchen walked in the door, she had an instant bond with Zoe the way only dog people do.  After Zoe recovered, we couldn’t help but turn into a regular client.  Gretchen is a full-service dog walker who offers very reasonable prices, plus love and care for your dog that not just anyone can give.  We love the Wags N Words blog as well, for giving us a snapshot of what Zoe was up to while we were at work.  We highly recommend Gretchen and her trusty sidekick Rubin to anyone.

From Rosie and Tyson’s Family:

A little over a year ago, I was recovering from surgery and needed some extra support with Tyson and Rosie.  I was already lucky enough to have Maureen (Mo’s Dog Walking) in my life – she takes Tyson on a few outing a week to the dog park – but Rosie needed someone who could cater to her specific and unique needs.  And that is how Gretchen came into our lives.  Maureen recommended her to us and I knew if Maureen recommended her, she was someone we could trust and who would be reliable.

Trusting your dog to another human being is harder than it sounds. And I trust Gretchen completely and most importantly so does Rosie. Rosie doesn’t trust easily all at – you see she had a rough start to life but under Gretchen’s gentle and patient care, she has really blossomed.  Gretchen brings out the best in Rosie and she always comes home happy and satisfied.  Tyson spends more time with Maureen than Gretchen but he also enjoys his time with Gretchen.

She is dependable, caring, thoughtful, trustworthy and clearly loves what she does– and Rosie [and Tyson] love her. I know I can always count on Gretchen to be there for us (she has come through for me in emergency situations).  What more could you ask? Seriously. I have and will continue to recommend Gretchen because of the quality, level of commitment, and genuine caring she has provided to both Rosie and Tyson.

From Lucy’s Mom:

How to Squish a Ball by Lucy

Gretchen is fabulous. I feel so lucky that Lucy (my dog) gets to spend time with her each week. It’s a huge treat.

Gretchen gets dogs. She understands that every dog has his/her own personality, has different needs and wants and she has this incredible ability to connect with each of them. The pictures are such a treat and the stories that go along with them…well, those are just the cream of the crop.

In addition to being so great with the dogs, Gretchen treats everything in her business with the utmost of quality. She is punctual, professional, and organized. Her website is first rate.

I wholeheartedly recommend Gretchen as a dog walker. You and your dog will love her.

From Ollie’s Mom:that way

Gretchen is by far the best dog walker ever. This is no exaggeration. My dog Ollie was one of her first clients and frankly I don’t know what we would do without her now. She goes way above and beyond the call of duty. She reliably shows up every time, carries all kinds of extra gear to protect my dog in case the weather turns sour. She takes the dogs to a variety of different locations, some of which are quite far away, so that they can experience a whole range of play experiences. She often keeps Ollie well beyond the 1 hour designated time limit, even at her own home (with permission of course)! And she treats Ollie like he is one of her own. Not to mention the added bonus her daily blog with amazing doggie photos that provide hilarious and entertaining photo documentation of each romp. This is something you won’t find with any other dog walker. Needless to say, I highly recommend Gretchen to anyone looking for a dog walker.

From Saber’s Parents

on the beachGretchen’s passion for dogs really shows through he work. We truly enjoy having her work with Saber and ready Rubin’s blogs every night. Her extra effort and time really shows and is much appreciated. Saber is growing so fast and into such a great pup and Gretchen and Rubin are a big part of that.

Saber really enjoys the time with Gretchen and Rubin, and we can tell the other dogs do as well.

From Woobie’s Parents

Our dog, Woobie, LOVES her time with Gretchen and Rubin!  When we get home from work on a Gretchen and Rubin day, she’s happy, mellow and tired!  Their adventures are never the same – big grassy fields, sculpture gardens, lake shores, flowery parks, and play-courts where the balls bounce really well.  They always cover a lot of territory on the trails and streets in our neighborhood.  Woobie gets to play with different dogs, depending on the day, all thanks to Gretchen and Rubin.  We see tons of gorgeous, hilarious photos of Woobie, Rubin and their friends on www.wagsnwords.com.  This is where the day’s events are skillfully chronicled in adventure stories, thoughtful reflections, epic poems and more… we enjoy every one!

From Monty’s Mom

Gretchen and Rubin are the best! I am lucky enough to consider Ann and Gretchen as friends and Rubin is, unquestionably, Monty’s BFF. I can always count on Monty being happily exhausted after his days with Gretchen and Rubin and the blogs are so thoughtful and fun. I also know that Gretchen will care for Monty as if he were her own dog — Monty knows this as well. :) I still remember the first time Monty left with Gretchen; I was a worried mom but he trotted off happily with her and did not look back…
Monty and I are so very thankful to have Rubin and his pack in our lives!
