A Great Place to Hang out!
We had a full house today as you can tell. Not that I’m complaining. There were lots of friends about to play with and we even had nap time together as well as lunch.
Our day started with a morning walk — just Gemma and me — and then we fetched Monty from his condo. He woofed loudly all the way down the three flights of stairs excited to see us. Gemma had never been to his house so she was thrilled to be there, too, desperately pulling to race up the stairs after the smell of cat. But Gretchen had a firm grip on her leash so there was no mid-morning cat snack for any of us!
How does Monty do it living with tasty treats like that?
We headed to the park where Monty and I played fetch, and Gemma (on a leash drag) tried to fetch us. She’s persistent she is and like her breed (Irish terrier) she rarely gives up be it chasing Monty…
…or biting my ears (which I think are permanently pierced by now!)…
Gemma got a bit tired, but she waited out in the field for one of us to sally forth in our game of fetch, but today was warm. Not as warm as yesterday or the day before, but still warm.
Monty and I are kind of wooly these days (I’m hearing rumors of an upcoming spa day…yikes!) so we get overheated quickly. Gemma doesn’t understand this. She literally stood in this pose (to the left) for 10 minutes waiting for us to cool off and continue the game.
We, on the other hand, took a break and relaxed in the shade feeling absolutely no pressure to continue until we were good and ready!
Gretchen took us back to the house where we napped before lunch. While we rested, she picked up Oshi and Perrito for their mid-day walk and along the way met up with Quillette (her mom was off to an appointment). They headed back to the park and frolicked on the tennis courts though I’m not sure you can call it frolicking…
Meanwhile, Quillette played with the ball, but she got a bit confused when the ball rolled on the other side of the net!
After Oshi and Perrito went home, Quillette joined us at the house and Gemma was up to her pesky tricks.
Sound like a busy day? Well, it wasn’t over for Gretchen. We have a new client and as Gretchen does when she first starts walking a new dog, she went by herself. This dog is named Jasper and according to Gretchen he’s a bit of a momma’s boy (kind of like me!). He wasn’t certain about the outing at first. He kept checking in with Gretchen to see if it really was okay to be walking with her.
At one point Jasper even stopped in his tracks and decided to pull his way back home!
But once they arrived at the lake (wait, Jasper got to go to a lake?), all was good!
That made everything pretty okay for Jasper and after Gretchen fed him dinner, he thought she was pretty okay!
And that, my friends, is the end of one very long day! More tomorrow!
