A Day of Shadows

Wednesdays are usually busy days and I steeled myself in preparation for hard work, but alas, it never came.  Lucy got moved to tomorrow and Gemma got to spend the day with her dad, so our day was not nearly as full as it had planned to be. I’m not complaining.  I got to spend the day with Monty and that’s always fun.

We went for a long walk through the park and along the lake and ended up at the field where we played some fetch.  The day was beautiful…blue skies, lots of light, and even though it was a bit chilly, very wonderful. Gretchen just let us play — she didn’t pull out the camera until we picked up Oshi and Perrito.  Then she did her best to position us in the sun, avoiding the shadows.

It didn’t really work…here for instance, we are all waiting patiently for Gretchen to figure out what she wants us to do — where to stand, in what order, blah, blah, blah — and the shadows, as you can see, kept getting in the way.

Then she tried close ups, but the shadows danced in and out and sometimes she got a good shot and sometimes she didn’t…

But later in the day, after we’d rested and ate lunch, we went out again to Volunteer Park…one of my favorite places because there are lots and lots of squirrels.

Only today, there weren’t that many squirrels…there were just more shadows!

We played some more fetch at the tennis courts and you can see how those pesky shadows dogged us (hey, I just made a pun!)

I wonder if those shadows will show up again?
